The UK’s National Health Service Choices has issued its top tips to help stay healthy and beat winter tiredness.

They include eating more foods that are high in vitamin D such as oily fish and eggs, getting more natural daylight by opening the curtains immediately on getting up and regular exercise. Other tips are getting into a good sleeping routine of around eight hours each night, trying relaxition techniques to reduce stress and eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Dr Knut Schroeder said: “In the winter months many of my patients tell me they find it hard to get out of bed in the morning and are generally feeling tired and lethargic.”
