Product Description
Quest SAM-e
Sam-e is formed in the body by the combination of the essential amino acid methionine and the energy molecule ATP (adenosine triphosphate). SAM-e is a necessary ingredient in the production of the neurotransmitters serotonin, dopamine, and phosphotudylserine, which help to relieve depression. SAM-e also helps increase the production of proteoglycans, which are the major building material for cartilage, thus helping to increase the strength and integrity of cartilage in the joints. As a major methyl donor in the liver and its liptropic activity, SAM-e has a positive effect on the liver, both in the treatment of diseases such as cirrhosis, and in daily functions such as detoxification, recycling hormones, and enzyme production.
