A survey of British workers has found that information technology workers are the most inactive and have the poorest diet.

-Fewer than 19 percent get 30 minutes of moderate exercise 5 days a week.

-Only 14 percent of IT workers say they eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily.

-Their caffeine intake is the highest among of British professions with IT workers consuming the equivalent of 10 cups of coffee per day.

-Half drink energy drinks daily.

Receptionists, salespeople and cashiers come in just behind IT workers in the survey. Bricklayers and construction workers get the most exercise.

In defense of IT workers and the others: The study also found that 63 percent of Brits fail to meet the government’s recommended activity guidelines. The average person gets about 90 minutes of activity a week.

The survey was conducted by British personal training agency Fat Free Fitness.
