Geneva (dpa)- Workers in smaller offices tend to be happier and have less absenteeism, according to a new Swiss study released Tuesday.
People in smaller offices felt more productive and experienced fewer interruptions. Moreover, the climate conditions, such as the temperature, were generally more comfortable than in big offices.
The study by the Swiss State Secretariat for the Economy and a technical school in Lucerne was based on a survey of 125 companies, and included 1,230 people. It was produced to help companies plan future buildings and spaces.
According to the study, one of the major causes for office conflict was audible disturbances, such as loud phone conversations or meetings by colleagues.
